More Girls In Football

In the last decade, there has been a monumental movement of more girls getting into football. The triumphant win from the Lionesses last year is set to further propel this positive uptake.

“We have seen more girls stepping forward to play, more fans filling our stadiums and new commercial partners all wanting to be part of this great movement for change.” Baroness Sue Campbell

At Apex Academy we are looking forward to being part of this movement. Our indoor facilities with FIFA Accredited 3G Pitch give aspiring footballers a unique opportunity to train and develop their skills.

We know there is a gap in the North East for coaching female football and Apex are working with schools and teams to support and fill the gaps in provision. Based in North Shields we are easily accessible through the Tyne Tunnel and A19 for all North East Cities, Newcastle, Sunderland, South Shields, Durham etc.

"We are excited to be part of the movement towards more girls embracing and excelling in football with the launch of our new Lionesses Inspired Football Programme for girls in the North East.

Our program will not only focus on core skills but also on psychology and plyometrics. We are passionate about taking a holistic approach to player development." Caroline - Apex Lionesses' Coach

"The strategy pledged to create a sustainable future for women’s and girls’ football in England through eight transformational objectives to be achieved by 2024. Since the launch, strides have been made in the priority areas, with growth accelerated after a historic year for the women’s and girls’ game.

Following their success awareness of the Lionesses has increased by 32% across girls aged 5-16 in England, and interest in women’s football is up 12% amongst girls aged 5-16 in England compared to before the tournament." The FA
